This observance, initiated in 2009 by H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III, symbolizes a profound commitment to compassion and liberation. Following a significant Buddhist event, H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III designated this day as one for the compassionate release of captive lives, a practice that has since spread globally.

The Blessing and Peace Dharma Assembly held at the Holy Miracles Temple in Pasadena, CA, on October 13, 2024, served as a response to the overwhelming challenges facing our world today.
On Sunday, September 22, 2024, a gathering was held at the Holy Miracles Temple, Pasadena, CA, to honor the Holy Birthday of Namo Ancient Buddha Dipankara. The event, organized by the World Buddhism Association Headquarters (WBAH), Holy Miracles Temple, and Sanger Mission, took place in the Grand Hall of Shakyamuni Buddha.

San Francisco’s Hua Zang Si (Temple) hosted a solemn Dharma Assembly on September 10th, 2023, dedicated to paying deep respects to Kṣitigarbha Bodhisattva on the occasion of His holy birthday and also celebrating the Ullambana Festival. Under the guidance of Abbess Ruzun Ruohui, the congregation recited the Original Vows of Kṣitigarbha Bodhisattva Sutra to honor this special day.
