We take this opportunity of the auspicious and extraordinary 2013 Dharma Assembly to invite everyone to join us in making vows together. We sincerely beseech the Buddhas of the ten directions to bless the United States with peace and prosperity, bountiful harvests, freedom from disasters and hardships, for all nations of the world, for humanity and sentient beings to live in happiness, with abundant auspiciousness and everlasting peace. We respectfully pray to H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III not to forsake us practitioners, and may He personally come to the Dharma Assembly to bestow blessings.
On the occasion of issuing this article, we are pleased to announce an inspiring piece of good news: on October 18, 2012, many practitioners respectfully visited the great H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III, and they did so again on October 25. They said that at the time, they could hardly believe it — in just seven days, H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III appeared completely different from how He had looked only days earlier. It was truly miraculous and astonishing! In only a few days, the Buddha Master had rejuvenated, becoming youthful once again. In only a few days, the Buddha Master had reversed old age to return to youth, and even more remarkably, appeared far younger and more handsome than over twenty years ago.
According to the Dharma Masters of the meditation hall, “During those seven days, the Buddha Master was praying for peace and auspiciousness at the mandala on the lawn. Having served tirelessly for many years without rest, He naturally began to show signs of fatigue and aging.
One noon, seeing that everyone was saddened, the Buddha Master said, “Do not be sad for me. Birth, aging, sickness, death–the world is subject to impermanence, that’s why Shakyamuni Buddha also left.” At that moment, the Buddha Master instructed the monastics to bring offerings and a prayer text. When the monastics delivered the offerings and text, they suddenly saw that the Buddha Master had already transformed into a youthful appearance! Shocked, one of them dropped the apples from the offerings to the ground.”
Upon hearing that the Buddha Master had returned to His youthful appearance of the Chengdu days, Dunzhu and several other Dharma Masters hurried to the scene. At their first glance of the Buddha Master, they were utterly astonished! What they saw was not the aging appearance they had seen just a few days ago, nor was it merely the Buddha Master’s youthful appearance of the time in Chengdu—it was an even greater transformation. His facial structure, body, complexion, and spirit had all become youthful again, radiant and full of vitality. To use a worldly expression that should not be used: He was extraordinarily handsome and striking! His appearance back in the Chengdu days or during His visit to Taiwan couldn’t compare to the current youthful, radiant, and majestic presence that is H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III. It thoroughly proves that the “Rejuvenation and Youthful Appearance Dharma” is truly in the hands of the Buddha.
Yet the Buddha sternly rebuked us, saying that we were seeing things and speaking nonsense. He said: “I only washed away the dirt on my face with Ganges sand and nectar water. That is simply a medical method. Anyone can wash their face clean. Applying oily face cream will even make the face look shiny. You are exaggerating far too much, speaking nonsense about me becoming like I looked twenty years ago in Chengdu. Do I look like that? Back then in Chengdu, I was just an ordinary person with a shallow understanding and limited experience, extremely humbled and ashamed. What is there worth imitating? If I had truly mastered this Dharma, would I need to rejuvenate myself into that version of myself from Chengdu? You have read in the recorded teachings of The Supreme and Unsurpassable Mahamudra of Liberation about the Dharma of reversing aging and regaining youth, so you forced it onto me without regard for the facts. Yes, the Supreme and Unsurpassable Mahamudra of Liberation does mention such dharmas, but to this day, no one has actually practiced them. How could anyone know their effects? I myself do not understand those dharmas. I am lacking; I do not have this attainment.”
Although the Buddha Master refused to admit it, the fact of His rejuvenation cannot be denied. Think about it. Never mind returning to youth in just ten minutes; even in seven days, could anyone rejuvenate themselves by simply washing their face with Ganges sand? Especially, the handsomeness, majesty and mightiness have far surpassed those of twenty years ago. Is that what humans can do? History has never seen such a precedent!
This situation deeply reminds us of a serious matter worth reflection: many so-called exalted “holy ones”—proud and boastful, self-proclaimed renowned Dharma kings, venerables, and Dharma masters—are not only lacking in true wisdom and unable to demonstrate the Five Vidyas, but as they age, they grow older, weaker, and more decrepit. Their appearance only worsens over time. Yet, despite this, they rely solely on their inherited positions, shamelessly claim holiness, ascend to the throne of the Dharma king, deceive practitioners, and accept offerings. To be honest, aside from Guru Padmasambhava, none of them has ever shown the real accomplishment of reversing aging and regaining youth. How pitiful!
By contrast, H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III does not accept offerings, has reached the highest level in the Five Vidyas and attained the pinnacle of the Tripitaka, is unsurpassed in all aspects, and even manifests a rejuvenated youthful appearance that shocked the world. Yet He still does not acknowledge Himself as possessing attainment, always saying He is lacking and ashamed. But this kind of “lacking” and “ashamed,” when compared to those false and arrogant Dharma Kings and Rinpoches who pretend to be holy, their shallowness and hypocrisy are laid bare, making them laughable. They are truly pitiful to the extreme!
This sharp contrast naturally reveals the essence of a true holy being versus those who pose as saints but are worldly pretenders. It is indeed a matter for profound reflection!!!
We believe that as long as we hold a sincere and devoted heart, the Buddha Master will one day transmit to us the “Rejuvenation and Youthful Appearance Dharma.” Otherwise, the Supreme and Unsurpassable Mahamudra of Liberation would not contain the name of this Dharma at all.
