Tibetan esoteric Dharmas are classified into two major categories. One category of the Dharmas consists of those translated from sutras or Dharma manuals, which is called Gama. The other category of Dharmas are uncovered terma called Daima. Daima is further classified into Southern Tibetan and Northern Tibetan. The Dharmas of uncovered terma mean these Dharmas are obtained by uncovering the terma and they are generally called Terma Dharma. A Terma Dharma can be further categorized as Uncovering Terma with Direct Verification or Uncovering Terma without Direct Verification.

Yesterday, when the bright Sun was shining in the sky, it was suddenly reported that at the river bed above the underground river at the Holy Heavenly Lake, huge waves were seen flowing very fast from south to north. The magnitude of the water flow was inconceivably large. The river’s width was similar to that of the Yangtze River. The color of the river was transparently blue, resembling that of the Danube River. Seeing the rushing billows with the rapid torrents, many people were very astounded and did not know how to react. They were speculating but did not know what kind of situation might occur after all.

A question was raised by a disciple of the Vajrayana tradition on behalf of the candidates attending the Determination by Holy Selection (aka. Zejue): “I attended the Determination by Holy Selection of the Dharma of Yamantaka Vajra this time. I am grateful to all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas and the holy virtuous persons for giving me this opportunity, which enabled me to have the good fortune of seeing the true appearance of Yamantaka Vajra in my current lifetime. However, we just cannot understand the fact that among the 27 candidates attending the Determination by Holy Selection, only two successfully practiced the Dharma of Yamantaka Vajra and manifested the true appearance of Yamantaka Vajra.

‘There are two Dharma visages of Yinhai Shengzun that have been placed here for worship all along. What is strange is, if we now stand at the same distance away to view these two dharma visages of the Shengzun, by just one glance, the dharma visage placed for worship before Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva’s statue appears much larger than the other dharma visage placed for worship on the sidewall! One of the two dharma visages that are identical in size and dimensions becomes larger than the other. But when we measure them with a measuring tape, their dimensions are indeed identical without any difference.’
