In a world reeling from the catastrophes of 2024, including unprecedented natural disasters and escalating conflicts that have deepened global suffering, Buddhists worldwide gathered on October 29 to honor the Buddha-Stipulated Day of Releasing Lives. This observance, initiated in 2009 by H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III, symbolizes a profound commitment to compassion and liberation. Following a significant Buddhist event, H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III designated this day as one for the compassionate release of captive lives, a practice that has since spread globally.

In times of widespread catastrophe and suffering, the spirit of compassion inherent in Buddhism reminds us of the urgent need to extend blessings to all sentient beings. The Blessing and Peace Dharma Assembly held at the Holy Miracles Temple in Pasadena, CA, on October 13, 2024, served as a response to the overwhelming challenges facing our world today.

On Sunday, September 22, 2024, a gathering was held at the Holy Miracles Temple, Pasadena, CA, to honor the Holy Birthday of Namo Ancient Buddha Dipankara. The event, organized by the World Buddhism Association Headquarters (WBAH), Holy Miracles Temple, and Sanger Mission, took place in the Grand Hall of Shakyamuni Buddha.

On June 14th and 15th, at the Glendale Civic Auditorium in Glendale, Los Angeles County, the World Buddhism Association Headquarters, Holy Miracles Temple, Hua Zang Si Temple, Benevolence Temple, and Sanger Mission jointly organized a two-day Dharma Assembly.

To honor the Holy Birthday of Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva, Buddhists and local residents converged at the Holy Miracles Temple in Pasadena, California, for the Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva Dharma Assembly. Held on March 17, 2024, within the Sakyamuni Buddha Hall, this event was a collaborative effort between the World Buddhism Association Headquarters, Holy Miracles Temple, and Sanger Mission.

As the world eagerly awaited the dawn of the Lunar New Year, steeped in tradition and cultural significance, the World Buddhism Association Headquarters and the Holy Miracles Temple shine brightly as symbols of compassion and community service. Amidst the festivities marking the commencement of the Lunar New Year on February 10th, 2024, the temple embarked on a noble endeavor titled “Charitable Act to Benefit Our Community Together: 2024 Food and Goods Drive.”

San Francisco’s Hua Zang Si (Temple) hosted a solemn Dharma Assembly on September 10th, 2023, dedicated to paying deep respects to Kṣitigarbha Bodhisattva on the occasion of His holy birthday and also celebrating the Ullambana Festival. Under the guidance of Abbess Ruzun Ruohui, the congregation recited the Original Vows of Kṣitigarbha Bodhisattva Sutra to honor this special day. Attendees offered their heartfelt reverence to the Buddhas and prayed for blessings upon all sentient beings from the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas.

To honor the Holy Birthday of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III, revered as the Pope of Buddhism, several prominent Buddhist organizations including the World Buddhism Association Headquarters, Holy Miracles Temple, Hua Zang Si, Benevolence Temple, and the Sanger Mission, jointly organized a Grand Dharma Assembly in Glendale, California. The two-day event took place on June 30th and July 1st, 2023, at the Glendale Civic Auditorium and attracted over a thousand Buddhists from around the world.
